In 2025, a slight increase in exports is expected mainly due to the rouble weakening.Imports will be higher in the three quarters of 2024 than in 2022 but lower than in 2023.According to the Russian Fish Union, the reduction in imports is mainly due to the growth of Russian fish and fish products in the domestic market, problems with international payments, complex logistics, and the weakening of the rouble. In this regard, most Russian analysts in the fish business field expect a further decline in fish and seafood imports to Russia this year. https://www.seafoodnews.com/Story/1293593/Russia-to-Keep-Fish-Exports-Open-in-2025-Despite-Rising-Prices Labeling and Marketing Outlook 2025: Alaska seafood marketing director upbeat about consumer behavior, Russia ban, Trump health plan Recent funding increases will allow ASMI to continue to help the Alaska seafood industry grow demand in the United States and diversify global markets. The Seattle Times by Lydia Hock - December 23, 2024

NMFS is adjusting the 2025 total allowable catch (TAC) amounts for the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands (BSAI) pollock, Atka mackerel, and Pacific cod fisheries. This action is necessary because NMFS has determined these TACs are incorrectly specified, and will ensure the BSAI pollock, Atka mackerel, and Pacific cod TACs are the appropriate amounts based on the best scientific information available.
